In this thesis we investigated what kindergarten teachers think about physical activity in the toddler department, and how they facilitate for this. Choice of issue is based on own interests and experiences. We have experienced a lot of focus on physical activity with the oldest children, but not as much with the little ones. It is equally important for children aged 1-3 to acquire good physical habits from an early age, and from our own experiences, there are only positive effects that come from being physically active. To implement the study, we have interviewed four kindergarten teachers to hear their thoughts and opinions on the topic. This has been done using the qualitative interview method. The result shows that most people are working towards the same goal – in other words, that the children should be left with good experiences with physical activity. The challenges that are repeated are thoughts about safety and having enough people at work. Yet they make the best of it, using the resources they have access to. Through the study, we are left with more knowledge than before about how to facilitate physical activity in the toddler department and will take this with us when we start working.en_US
