This paper is concerned with the interpretation of context-dependent elements such as IX1, IX2 and IX(HERE) in Catalan Sign Language (LSC) under role shift and ellipsis. We show that their behavior in both environments sheds light on ellipsis mechanisms, which share essential properties with anaphora and discourse reference, and speech reports constructions.en_US
