dc.description.abstract | The subject for this assignment is the motivational factors that occur with employees
and management within an organization. In today's competitive market it is necessary
to create a workplace that will attract and keep the best employees to stay in the lead.
The purpose of this assignment is examining if there exists a correlation between which
motivational factors leaders see as best, and what their employees think.
We have completed one quantitative and one qualitative study in cooperation with an
organization called Appex, consisting two in-depth interviews and one questionnaire. In
this assignment, we have used two motivational theories. One of them is known as one
of the basic motivational theories about which factors that create well-being and
discomfort in an organization. The second theory is a more recent theory about
autonomy at the workplace.
We will present different social research methodologies, the approach of these methods
and how we implemented our interviews and questionnaire. Since we chose to use both
methodologies, we have combined them in our analysis. The data we collected is divided
into the following themes:
- Communication between management and employees
- Motivational factors
- Trust and self-determination
- Belonging and social relations
We will finish this assignment by presenting the discussion and our findings. Appex is a
fast growing firm where the leadership has a lot of their focus on a motivating work
environment. They use reward systems, feedback and human resource development and
so on as a way to motivate their employees. We found some disagreements where the
employees were more neutral to bonus than what the management expressed. The
compliance in motivational factors between management and employees in this
business is very good. | nb_NO |
