Assignment title: Outdoor life and children`s mental health Problem statement: «Can one see a connection between children`s mental health and the use of outdoor life?» Sub-problem: «How can welfare-educators use outdoor life to strengthen the mental health for child with ADHD?” Theory: I have chosen to present theory that is relevant to my problem. I start the chapter with a theoretical part about outdoor life, before I move on to mental health, and then stress and self-efficacy. Following, I present health promoting factors, then the subject to mental health in children, and finally, I will shed light on ADHD. health promoting factors. Method: I have chosen to use literature study and hand search. First, I will write about the method I have chosen to use, and what requirements I have for the articles. Afterwards, I have included a form for which keyword and databases I have found the included articles in. Results and discussion: In the first part, I have chosen to present the four articles in short summary, which gives a brief overview of the article’s content. Following on, I have looked further into three subjects: nature as a health benefit arena, stress and self-efficacy, and ADHD. Those three themes will help shed light on my problem statement. Finally, I discuss my results up against the presented theory. Conclusion: The take home message of all four articles, is that use of outdoor life with children has shown many health promoting elements, such as less stress, reduced symptoms of ADHD, and a feeling of mastery. The articles show that having outdoor life easily accessible is an important factor for how much time children spend outdoors.en_US
