dc.description.abstractIn this bachelor assignment I will look at children who witness domestic violence. I will investigate what strategies children use before, during and after a violent episode and see how witnessing violence can affect the child emotionally. No matter what strategiesthe child is using, whether the strategies aredirect or indirect, thereare waysto copewiththe violence. My main focus is to look at children who witness violence, and notdirectly exposed to violence. My topic question is: “What strategies do children use to handle domestic violence and how is the child emotionally affected by the violence?”I have chosen literature study as a methodical introduction to discuss my topic question. To answer the topic question, I will use three studies that highlight children’s strategies and feelings when they witness domestic violence. Thechildren in the studiesare7-20 yearsold. The studies are based on the child’s perspective. This perspective highlights children’s own voices and experiences, and this is the purpose of the assignment.nb_NO
