dc.description.abstract | Title: «We have as many tough girls, as boys in kindergarten» The purpose of writing this bachelor thesis is to investigate the attitudes of kindergarten staff towards gender and gender equality in kindergartens. I also wanted to find out how conscious they were about their own attitudes and actions around the subject, and how they work with gender equality in kindergarten. Based on this, I constructed this thesis: How does four members of kindergarten staff express their own work with gender equality in kindergarten? To shed light on my thesis, I used a group interview, and a document study to support my findings. In addition to this I have used textbooks from my curriculum and other textbooks related to the topic. The findings in this study show that the staff treats girls and boys differently, because of lack of knowledge and unconscious attitudes. The society's expectations and the lack of knowledge about gender and gender equality, is a factor that influences the staff’s attitudes and actions in kindergarten. | en_US |
