Psykisk stress og utmatting hjå intensivsjukepleiarar
Abstract
Hensikt: Hensikta med denne studien er å utforske kva erfaringar intensivsjukepleiarar med psykisk stress og utmatting i sin jobbsituasjon.
Problemstilling: Kva erfaringar har intensivsjukepleiarar med psykisk stress og utmatting i jobbsituasjon? Metode: Det er nytta kvalitativ metode for å svare på problemstillinga. Sju intensivsjukepleiarar har blitt intervjua i individuelle semistrukturerte djupneintervju. Analysemetoden er systematisk tekst kondensering.
Resultat: Intensivsjukepleiarane har erfaring med psykisk stress i ulike situasjonar i sitt arbeid. Pasient- og pårørandesituasjonar der intensivsjukepleiarane opplever å ha for lite kompetanse vert erfart som psykisk stressande og utmattande. Dersom
intensivsjukepleiarane opplever at sikkerheita deira er truga vert dette også erfart som psykisk stressande og utmattande. Vidare erfarer dei dårleg samarbeid både i
pleiepersonalet og tverrfageleg som ein stressor. Dårleg arbeidsmiljø og lite støtte og informasjon frå leiarar er også psykisk stressande og potensielt utmattande for
intensivsjukepleiarane. Samtaletiltak som debriefing, tverrfagelege møter og kollegastøtteordning vert erfart som effektivt mot psykisk stress. Vidare er også tillit til
kollegaer leiinga viktig for å motverke psykisk stress og utmatting. Avkopling på heimebane er også førebyggjande mot dette. Konklusjon: Intensivsjukepleiarane i utvalet har fleire erfaringar med psykisk stress. Desse erfaringane er knytt til pasient- og pårørande situasjonar, arbeidsmiljø, samarbeid og knytt til leiinga. Dei har også erfaring med fleire kjensle- og problemfokuserte mestringsstrategiar, både på arbeid og privat. Dei mest brukte mestringsstrategiane er samtaletiltak på arbeidsplassen, som til dømes debriefing og tverrfagelege møter. I tillegg til avkoplingstiltak på heimebane.
